BOTOX® injections are the most common aesthetic procedure performed around the world. Botox injections are primarily used to target areas of the face to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including frown lines on the forehead and crow’s feet. Botox will last on average 3-6 months. You will begin to feel the effects 3-5 days after the treatment, with maximum results achieved at 1-2 weeks. The longevity of Botox depends on three main things: your metabolism, your muscle strength and how active those muscles are.
Dysport® uses the same neurotoxin as Botox®, but research suggests for some people that it works faster and lasts longer than its predecessor. Dysport also spreads farther from the injection site, meaning fewer injections are needed to target a specific area. Dysport is typically used to lessen the appearance of crow’s feet and frown lines. The injections are nearly painless and most patients start to see results in as little as 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting in some cases up to 13 months.
Xeomin® uses the same protein used in Botox® but is specifically formulated to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyes. Xeomin® is injected directly into the affected muscles. It works by preventing the muscle fibers between the eyes from contracting when you squint or frown. This reduces the appearance of the folds and frown lines. Xeomin® treatments are quick and relatively painless and most patients will begin to see improvement as early as three to four days after the treatment with the maximum effect achieved at 30 days. Results typically last up to three months but vary by patient.
